I figured this was malware, so I ran Malwarebytes. It found and cleaned 3 trojans. I restarted my computer.
Then a window popped up and it really is a Windows window.. In the error message it says Google Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Then you can report the error.. It took me to a site that said that my computer is infected with UACd. It gave directions to remove it, starting with opening hidden drivers in Device Manager, find it and disable it..
So I looked for the hidden driver and it isn't there, so I can't proceed further. I saw on another site that this person had this virus too, and it didn't show up, so they said to go to Kaspersky online scan and run it.
When I tried to do this, the scanner said I need to update my Java.. I installed Java 3 times but the Kasperky online won't work, it just gets stuck or continues saying I don't have Java.
So I went to run Malwarebytes again and it won't run. I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it wont completely install.. Nothing happens when I try to open it. I figured I would try running Windows Defender.. It ran but said everything is normal. Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
MBAM will now start scanning your computer for malware. This process may take some time to finish,so please be patient. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. MBAM will now delete all of the files and registry keys and add them to the quarantine. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
Before I continue with the rest of the steps, when I try to delete rpcnet. Your computer needs to be restarted to complete the removal process. Would you like to continue? Yes restart and the look to see if the file is gone. Okay, I've restarted as it said to Download The Avenger by Swandog46 and save it to your desktop. Below is the Avenger log Logfile of The Avenger Version 2. Script file read successfully. No rootkits found! Completed script processing. Looks good. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account if you have one in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account.
Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. It Only Hurts You!!! Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated, our system works the oldest threads FIRST. You must log in or sign up to reply here.
