Despite its crappyness, it is still a really cool novelty item. If only Americans would have the balls to pump out falsely advertised pirated lumps of trash This thing rocked my socks! Being an unemployed cancer of society - and eleven years old - a new game was few and far between, meaning I had 3 games, and even though I had the attention span of a goldfish, they did get BORING. My game library had just multiplied exponentially! I was a happy youngster indeed.
Sure it was completely illegal , sure it smelt and looked bad, sure I had to spend 20 minutes of the day bash ing the shit out of my NES to get it working, but one hundred and forty four games? Well worth it. Aye, that cartridge contained many a reason why I'm a pale skinny geek in front of a computer today. God bless. Since I had been living there a while, I insisted that the vendor plug the in his demo Gameboy.
He refused, but he did allow me to try the one was opened, one was wrapped in cellophane. I would guess that there were actually about 90 real unique games in the cart, with duplicates. I bought the , my friend bought the over my suggestion that he pass on it.
My daughter loves the My friend bought a very nice cheese green , aptly described, Ads plastic case with no ROM at all. If you're dealing with black market items, you get what you pay for, as long as you check it out first. Another cartridge had that or so games, though the remainder was full of duplications of the same crappy tank game - the difference being slightly different game colors My sister has two GameBoy cartridges like these.
I think the other had like 30 games, the other about the same amount. The same problem could be seen here: I must REALLY congratulate the makers for fitting so many crappy little games into such a small space.
The cartridge even had one real gem: Something called " Sonic 5". I didn't knew Sega has already started making games for GameBoy, at the time they had just stopped making Dreamcast and just said they would make games for GB too Also the game was part 5 , the graphics were ripped from some other Sonic games - title taken from Sonic 3D Blast , with the number "5" really badly slapped on top of the logo, the music sucked raw eggs through very thin straw and the game was really unplayable Numerous other weird GB warez versions have been reported to exist.
It also contained various games that were obviously abandoned halfway into their production, such as "RG Fighter" which is a continous loop of enemies coming in from off the screen and fighting you. There were also a few genuine Japanese creations, by genuine I mean all text was in Japanese. This legendary, tough platformer is probably the most popular Capcom game and a true classic for the NES.
Finding this game factory sealed is extremely difficult. Much like the SMB 3 left bros variation, there was a change made early in production. Only a handful of these likely exist, but any sealed or high grade CIB example is sought after.
The game was first released in the arcades, so this is a port to the NES but this home console version was the first time many games experienced the classic for themselves. Probably the most notoriously rare game for the NES.
This is certainly true when it comes to cart or even CIB collecting, that said there are many games that are just as rare and even more rare when it comes to Factory Sealed collecting. Gold edition would easily sell 6 figures today. This cart game was only given out to the top players in the video game world in and that is why this game is so insanely rare.
It is estimated that only or so of these still exist. There are two version is ultra rare cart, gray and gold. The gray variation is more common but arguably more important. The gray carts were given out to contest winners and the gold carts were given out to Nintendo Power subscribers.
This classically tough game was the 1 st mainstream Zombie game and the 1 st for the famed Nintendo Entertainment System. This arcade game by Capcom was a true coin eater as kids had to become insanely good to progress through this game and is known for its brutal difficulty right out the gate in the first level.
There are several versions and this being a NES title the first version comes with a cardboard hangtab. There are only a handful of this 1 st print known to exist but any version of this game in a factory sealed condition is highly sought after. Additionally, CIBS of this game have also become collectible over the years and finding a carboard hangtab example even in CIB can be a long term goal if looking for a mint example.
Likely high 5 figures. This insanely rare game, late run game is tough to find because it was a rental exclusive. There is only 1 confirmed factory sealed example as far as we are aware. Another early classic that is notoriously difficult to find Factory Sealed in any condition or version. A sealed hangtab 1 st print is virtually impossible to find. Any of the black box launch titles are tough to find sealed and this one is no exception. This is possibly the rarest of the bunch, with it virtually never coming up sealed.
Factory Sealed. Not only is Duck Tales 2 the most difficult to find, but this late run game is one of the best platformers ever created for the NES system, pushing its hardware at the time. The game is expensive and difficult to find in CIB with likely less then 10 factory sealed examples in existence. This classic game is insanely tough factory sealed.
One of the greatest run and gun games of all time and everyone that gamed in the late 80s has the Konami code ingrained into their brain. There are likely less sealed copies of this game then 30 lives making this classic highly sought after and tough to acquire. Stay tuned for future articles on these systems. This is one of the toughest to find sealed and couple that with the TMNT franchise and you have a real winner.
A recurring theme when it comes to NES collecting is the earliest and the latest examples tend to be the standouts from a rarity standpoint, especially sealed. Everyone remembers this classic Zapper game and its one of the more sought after launch titles due to its nostalgia.
Legal issues make this game very difficult to find. Factory sealed can be quite a challenge. Nintendo eventually would win the rights to sell this game and the earlier Tengen version was scrapped and pulled from the shelves. This important NES game is a key as the 1 st appearance of Solid Snake and the 1st entry in the classic Metal Gear series that would go on to span many years and consoles still active today. This rare Bandai title is more obscure but not with sealed collectors.
