Hustler delivers a furiously hostile slew of psychotic lyrical content, in a voice that, while not completely unintelligible, is a perfect addition to this death metal masterpiece. His low growl is reminiscent of that of Sven from Aborted. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite death metal albums of all time.

What album you ask? I fucking hate introduction tracks that are about nearly three minutes long that contains sound effects to try and make the album seems frightening and EVIL! Stupid introductions set aside, the band finally gets into it without a hitch, letting loose an explosion of death metal to brutalize your oh so sensitive ear drums.

Hustler gives a Corpsegrinder-esque performance, spitting out lyrics as if his mouth was a machine-gun. Another thing that really grabbed my attention was the phenominal bass playing by Erlend Caspersen.

I also found out that he did work with Deeds of Flesh, Vile, and Decrepit Birth too, so it all makes sense now! Really, the entire band does an incredible job putting this slab of meaty death metal together, and it really makes me hunger for the new album these guys will be releasing this year. This is mesmerizing to say the least. The tenacity shown on this album is just flat-out bone crushing.

The tracks also speak for themselves folks, and every instrument is executed is a very excellent way. That bass line found around 0. The musicianship found on this album is awesome. Vocalist Vald is also brutal in terms of doing Death Metal vocals, giving the band a far more Brutal Death Metal feel to them.

This is definitely a must for Death Metal fans. But again, I emphasize that every single track on this album is extremely excellent. This is good brutal Death Metal, delivered right in your face. Duck or get bloody. These guys rely more on tempo changes though. The second half of the album surpasses the first, no mean feat.

It takes familiar DM elements such as machine gun double bass and combines it with odd little melodic bass bits and the first real attempt at a guitar solo. This is what an altered genesis would sound like, I bet. Sounds like Mephitication Part II, which is good, since that track was the whole reason I picked up the album.

Tchort gets a little fancier with the guitar work. The mixed meter and changes make this song probably the most ambitious of the album, and Blood red Throne makes it work. After showing signs of success on their debut and sophomore album, Blood Red Throne have now released their third album titled "Altered Genesis.

The riffing displayed in "Altered Genesis" is similar to most death metal bands, but is still good. All of the riffs are extremely fast and brutal, but Blood Red Throne mixes the turbo fast riffs with mid-paced riffs, which is pretty interesting. The only problem I have with the guitar playing is the lack of solos.

The fancy guitar work is usually a strong addition to most albums, but "Altered Genesis" has very little leads or solos. The solos that are actually played in the album are excellent, and a bunch more of them would of made "Altered Genesis" a better album, but the puny amount of solos is moderated a bit by the bass playing. Unlike most death metal bands, Blood Red Throne tend to use more bass then guitar solos. It was surprising hearing all the bass lines that are packed into the music.

On most of the songs, bassist Erlend Caspersen usually plays the same riff along side the guitars, which makes the bass sound crisp and clear. One thing that really makes "Altered Genesis" seem nuts is when the music just stops and Caspersen throws in a bizarre bass line.

The drumming isn't anything different from other death metal drummers, but is passable. Drummer Bernt A Moen does some good blast beats and double pedal hits, but he just doesn't stand out as a fantastic drummer.

Not only is singer Vald an awesome growler, he is probably one of the better singers in death metal. Vald has a deep, tortured voice that really combines well with the rest of the music. Vald's performance in "Altered Genesis" adds a bunch of effects of the music and makes this album seem very enjoyable. I enjoyed listening to "Altered Genesis. This is Blood Red Thrones third album and it is now two years since their last deliverance.
